Epitome was formed by Renico van Wyk and Marcel Swanepoel in 2008 as a collective of digitally inspired filmmakers and creators. As creative director, Marcel leads the conceptual design with writing, directing, producing and photography. While Renico is in charge of technical operations in editing, sound, VFX, production and cinematography. We offer these services to all spectrums of video production. These include branded content, corporate videos, short films, documentaries, music videos, event videography, wedding videographers and advertisements.

Short films give us the freedom to explore conceptual ideas and permits us to express ourselves as creatives… While building some superb brands and businesses in the process.

Working closely with innovative institutions in tech and social sectors like AirBnB, weFix, DJI, Booking.com, UCT, Cape Peninsula University of Technology and various other agencies and artists to film and produce their latest stories that need voices. Our team has created content for influential networks in South Africa including KykNet, Mk & the SABC. Together, we have documented over 100 exclusive events and weddings around South Africa and have worked with the best in the industry. Along with this we have made numerous videos showcasing architecture, venues, and other spaces in the Western Cape and have been capturing the moments at WPP Stream Africa for the past four years.
